Azimuts Nº 36
29 February 2012
Tiempos in use for Azimuts Nº 36 by the designers at the Art & Design school of Saint-Étienne, France.
Created in 1991 by the design post-degree students of Saint-Etienne School of Arts, the review Azimuts constitutes at the same time a place of thinking and exchanges about the actual issues of design, a field of graphic experimentations and a support of communication for projects. Its name suggests a wide and diversified approach of design. The team Azimuts imagine, indeed, design as a thought, as a method, rather than as a limited field: its potential is to intervene within numerous domains, to infiltrate the heart of a question, to bring in it an external look, to interrogate it, to interrogate it again to reveal what is not named.
I adore the triple-covers and the sheer density of the page. Apart from newspapers, this is exactly the sort of thing I imaged the Tiempos family to be used for. It’s appropriately paired up with Graphik from Commercial Type.
