Font licences

The examples below summarise the most common use cases our customers have. Once you have identified your use case please read all licence terms carefully, as the licence will become a formal contract between you and Klim Type Foundry.

Please note that all fonts can be used worldwide, all fees are one-off, and all licences have no expiry.

Test fonts

Please note that test fonts can only be used within your organisation.

Logos, print & marketing material

Design of: logos; print or e-pub publications; signage; marketing materials; product/merchandise packaging; print advertising; corporate documents such as reports, presentations (e.g. Powerpoint) or newsletters; static images for print or web (including use in web banners/adverts); and film and video (non-broadcast).

Internal communication

Inter-office emails or other forms of internal communication.

Design software

For using Sketch, InDesign, Illustrator or similar software.

Embed into devices

You need to use the fonts within an operating system that enables a hardware device to run software applications and essential periphery services to provide a range of functions on the hardware device.

Unlimited desktop

You need unlimited desktop font licences and need to provide to them to affiliates, partners, agencies and vendors and people outside your organisation (e.g. contractors or freelancers) for purposes directly related to your business.

Web text

Styling text on any website you own or have created that can be viewed or printed, but can’t be edited by the end users to create a new output (i.e. document or customised product).

Dynamic web-based advertising

Styling text in dynamic web-based advertising content (e.g. real-time updates), or use of fonts in email template communications to external database (e.g. via Campaign Monitor or MailChimp).

Unlimited web

You need to use the fonts on unlimited domains or websites, with unlimited page views, and need to provide to them to affiliates, partners, agencies and vendors and people outside your organisation (e.g. contractors or freelancers) for purposes directly related to your business. You also may wish to use the web fonts for styling text in dynamic web-based advertising content (e.g. real-time updates), and/or in email template communications to external databases (e.g. via Campaign Monitor or MailChimp) in an unlimited capacity.

Web application

Styling, viewing or editing text in a web-based application that can’t be edited by the end users to create a new output (i.e. document or customised product).

Mobile application

Any application designed for mobile operating systems but can’t be edited by the end users to create a new output (i.e. document or customised product).

Exhibition application

Displaying an application you own at a public exhibition, end users are unable to edit or print.

Desktop application

Any application designed for desktop operating systems but can’t be edited by the end users to create a new output (i.e. document or customised product).

Unlimited application

You need to use the fonts on unlimited apps (web-based, desktop and mobile apps), with unlimited MAUs/Downloads, and need to provide the fonts to affiliates, partners, agencies and vendors and people outside your organisation (e.g. contractors or freelancers) for purposes directly related to your business.

Broadcast

You want to use the fonts within a TV show/series, film/movie or other content intended for broadcast, for your broadcasting network, or for promotional videos/films for advertising campaigns.

Along with a Broadcast Font Licence you’ll need to own a Desktop Font Licence for the fonts you want to use. Additional fees apply for broadcast use.

Unlimited distribution

You need to distribute the fonts to a wide range of people (e.g. affiliates, agencies, partners, vendors, contractors, freelancers) for purposes directly related to your business, and use them across various mediums, such as print media, online advertising, websites and apps, without restriction.
